Are you natural or permed and why?
Ive been natural for 7 months now if I counted correctly and i was permed for a bout 2 years and i transitioned for 9 months and i actually texlaxed my hair because i couldn't manage the growth and i decided once and for all to transition for 9 months and big chopped.
What's your favourite protective style ?
My favourite protective style is indeed marley twists, I have just watched a lot of tutorials on it and its the easiest style to copy i guess and the hair isn't expensive.
Do you do your hair yourself or get it professionally done?
I've only done Marley twist on my own because i go to uni in Edinburgh and there aren't as many natural hair salons available so yeah i just decided to watch youtube videos and do it on my own.
How do you maintain your natural hair and protective hair?
Almost every night I:
- moisturise with water, just use a spray bottle
- Put caster oil onto my edges
- Tie my satin scarf thats it
What are staple hair products?
I tend to stick to super natural products because i know exactly whats in them and a lot of theses products you can actually eat:
- Black soap ( brand i use id Dudu soap) i chop up the soap into small pieces and put it into a spray bottle and add some water and thats it.
- Coconut oil
- Caster oil
Worst/Funniest hair experience?
Back in year 7 I some how managed to convince my mum to let me wear my natural hair out. She took out my braids and i was able to wear my afro out it was awesome but the following day I had to go swimming with my school and I couldn't quite fit my swim cap on my head because of my big hair. So I had to go swimming with my afro out and that was quite silly and dangerous because of the chlorine and the water. I got out of the swimming pool and we had about 10 mins to get ready for the next lesson, my hair was extremely dry and it kept growing, growing and growing into this big puff and by the time it was the end of the day it was a huge mass and people kept touching it. It was just horrible the worst most brittle hair you could ever imagine.
What are your hair aspirations?
Okay, in the short term i just hope my hair will become extremely thick and have a similar texture throught because at the moment i have some really straight bits and some really curly bits i just want it to be uniform all around. In the long term i hope that my hair will grow to the length it use to be when it was relaxed, it used to be to my shoulder slightly long but i hope it grows in its natural state to that length.
